CHALLENGE
An infographic is to be designed for the lengthy 17-page research report on oil wells and the process of plugging them, which makes the topic visually appealing, accessible and easy to understand.
SOLUTION
The research article was divided into sections and divided into three double pages, each visualizing different aspects of this very extensive topic: the historical background, an overview of the quantity, location and climatic effects of oil wells and the closure process including a research project.

The Science Notes Magazine makes science tangible and understandable for society. Stories, infographics and research are appealingly made visible to a wide audience with outstanding design by the magazine’s art direction.
This infographic was created in close collaboration with the science editor, a researcher at GEOMAR and the art direction of Science Notes.
